The Macomb County Crisis Center is a 24-hr/7 day a week telephone hotline. We provide crisis counseling, as well as information and referrals. We are also the suicide prevention center for Macomb County. Volunteers counsel callers on our crisis line. They provide emotional support, help callers sort through problems, explore alternatives, and give information and referrals. Volunteers at Crisis Center participate in 44+ hours of intensive training. Topic include active listening, communication skills, a crisis intervention model, grief and loss, sexual assault, mental illness, domestic violence, substance abuse, community resources, and suicide prevention.
